Remember Bad Tesco? Well, I’m still narked at the plastic bottles for lovely olive oil but I haven’t got round to investigating alternatives and until I do then I have no real cause for complaint really do I? Erm especially as I think Lidl still do olive oil in glass and I haven’t been in there in months because I don’t want to add more driving to my shopping. Read the rest of this entry »

What a week.

It’s taught us a lot of lessons though.

Last weekend we discovered the boiler had broken and we were without hot water or any form of house heating. It was suddenly very cold and felt just a bit damp. So we called an engineer out and he was with us the same day. Read the rest of this entry »

Bad Tesco.

I like cooking, and I prefer Olive oil or sunflower oil to blended oils or generic vegetable oils. I do most of my shopping in my local market and in local shops. I have a fabulous local cheese shop and local butchers as well. Read the rest of this entry »

The difference between 2 and 3 deg C.

Advent Calenders.

We’ve all had them, we can see piles and piles of them in the shops. A thin card sleeve with this season’s popular film characters on and inside that a moulded plastic tray meant to hold tiny slivers of poor quality chocolate that all fall out and lurk at the bottom of the box.

Getting rid of fleas…
