Free Chickens…

But only if you live in Mouscron in Belgium….

Residents of a Belgian town are to be offered chickens as part of a campaign to reduce household waste.

We did put the bin out, less than half full – but to put it into perspective this is our Green bin with accumulated cardboard and the few bits of garden waste we can’t compost and it all goes to the council’s recycling centre. Will we put the bin out?

It’s the alternative week so it’s cardboard and garden waste but we’ve been careful with our shopping and I’ve not been gardening.

So, is there enough to warrant dragging the bin through the snow, or will we skip another week?

Good Tesco!

Remember Bad Tesco? Well, I’m still narked at the plastic bottles for lovely olive oil but I haven’t got round to investigating alternatives and until I do then I have no real cause for complaint really do I? Erm especially as I think Lidl still do olive oil in glass and I haven’t been in there in months because I don’t want to add more driving to my shopping. Read the rest of this entry »

What a week.

It’s taught us a lot of lessons though.

Last weekend we discovered the boiler had broken and we were without hot water or any form of house heating. It was suddenly very cold and felt just a bit damp. So we called an engineer out and he was with us the same day. Read the rest of this entry »

Bad Tesco.
