Fighting infections – inc Swine flu.

The advice to help protect us against swine flu and against all infections actually, is to cough/sneeze into a paper tissue and chuck it in the bin. Then wash your hands as soon as you possibly can.

Who’s worried? I’m not. I’ll do what I can to avoid it and protect myself and my family, and I’ll do what I can to boost my immune system gently so I stand a good chance of fighting it off as I would normal flu.

Comfrey Healing Salve

Comfrey has been used for centuries to treat bruises, sprains, surface wounds and even to help broken bones heal more quickly in humans and animals. In ages past farmers have fed comfrey to their livestock as a preventative and spring tonic after a long, cold, dark winter standing in the mire that is England.

Thinking about growing things…

And recycling at the same time. I know, it’s only January but I’m starting to think about my garden and planning what I’d like to grow this year.

There are many ways to give your plants a head start indoors or in a greenhouse. You can pop them in seed trays or plastic pots on a windowsill or in the greenhouse (but i don’t have a greenhouse) and then you have to transplant them all ouside when they’re big enough and strong enough and when the weather is right too.
