Only four years…

“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” Albert Einstein

One in every three bee colonies were lost last winter alone and the decline is continuing.  Various factors have been blamed, including pollution, disease, insecticides and modern agricultural practices as well as climate change. Research into Bee decline continues but in the meantime there is something we can all do.

Do you have a windowsill? A garden? Balcony or windowbox? A step outside your door where a tub could be planted and left? Then go and register your support at the Save Our Bees site, and there are some free seeds to be had (while their socks last)

Plant some seeds, grow some flowers and save some bees – everybody wins!

  1. It’s true that the factors of pollution, insecticides and agricultural practices have contributed to the decline of bees population, but also a huge factor which is underestimated but shown by recent studies is the use of mobile phones. The waves would apparently have a huge negative impact on them, and therefore contribute to their disappearance. And to change that, people need first to be aware of it, and then stop using it unless necessary but then again, are people ready to make this change? I am.
